"Expert care with a personal touch"
Our office provides comprehensive, individualized dental care to all of our patients. We promote a relaxed stress reducing environment, to ensure the most comfortable experience possible during your visit. We also offer care to those who require special attention, remember just ask! Below is just a sample of some of our frequently asked questions.
Emergency Care
Emergency Care is always provided on a same day basis to all of our active patients of record. Call us soon as you realize that a problem exists (847) 695-5100. The sooner the treatment begins the better the prognosis is to rectify the problem. We will do our best to work you into the schedule as soon as we can.
Local Anesthesia
Local anesthesia is administered in two different forms: topical and injectable. The topical anesthetic is applied to the tissues to minimize discomfort on the surface of the area before the injection. Injectable local anesthesia is applied directly into gums in order to numb the area in preparation for work that needs to be done. Through his training Dr. Whitted has learned to make this aspect of your visit as painless as possible.
Preventive Care
Good dental health requires constant attention. We urge you to do your share by brushing and flossing daily, while visiting our office at your recommended intervals for routine preventative care. We offer many preventive measures to help reduce your chances of tooth decay and other dental problems.
Water Lines
Many articles have been written concerning the cleanliness of water lines in a dental office setting. These problems can include fungal and bacterial overgrowth in the water lines. At Michael J. Whitted & Associates, we do not have this problem. Our lines are flushed regularly with a sterile disinfectant solution to meet and exceed the OSHA and ADA guidelines. If you ever have any questions about how we disinfect or sterilize an object, feel free to ask that very important question.
Cancellations and Delays
If it is necessary to cancel a reserved appointment time, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours of notice. This is so your reserved time can be made available to another patient. At Michael J. Whitted & Associates we value you time and we schedule reservations accordingly. Delays usually only occur do to our efforts to work into our schedule a patient who has a dental emergency. We ask for your understanding if this should occur. We always provide this emergency care and service to all our patients.
